Key Verse: Judges 6:14
"The LORD turned to him and said, 'Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?'"
Hello. My name is Sh. Mike Roth from Oakton Fellowship. I've been in Chicago UBF since June of 1996. After being in Oakton Fellowship the whole time since I've been here serving under Msn. Joshua Hong, Sh. Jack Magardician, and now Msn. Elijah Park, I believe God is calling me to serve him as a Fellowship leader. I pray that like Gideon, I may go in the strength I have and serve the work of God at Oakton campus.
My Prayer Topics are:
1.That all fellowship members may co-work well together and be of one heart and mind to raise Oakton students as servants of God through 1:1 Bible study and prayer.
2.For me to find a regular job with regular hours in order to serve the work of God more and to stop working too much.
3.That each fellowship member may have 1 new faithful sheep this year.
4.In God's time our fellowship may have 20 1:1 bible studies and 10 SWSA.
Jack Magardician:
My 2009 Key verse is from 2 Timothy 1:7:
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and
of self-discipline."
First, the work of God in my life. When I was a freshman attending Oakton community college I was invited to one to one Bible study by Shepherd Little Mike Cedeno who is now serving Triton ministry. Since that time through one to one Bible study for the first time I learned that God is the creator and based on Abraham's calling that God has hope for me to be a great man of God and to be a blessing. Although, I only wanted to be served, Jesus chose me and appointed me by his one sided grace as a shepherd and one to one Bible teacher. Then God gave me the desire to serve sheep as a one to one Bible teacher. He then blessed me to serve sheep with the word of God, have fellowship with them and give them rides to worship services and Bible conferences. Though I was a poor student, God enabled me to study hard until I graduated UIC as a history major. Then for three years God used me as an English Bible teacher. He blessed me to establish a house church, blessed me with three children, and for over a year God has used me as one of the early morning daily bread messengers.
Second, prayer and direction as a fellowship leader. God chose me to be a fellowship leader. When I look at myself in view of my sins and weaknesses it would be impossible for me to maintain God's calling as a fellowship leader. But when I thought about my key verse I could see God's promise through the power of his Holy Spirit. Through his Holy Spirit I can have the power and authority of God through much prayer and God's word. By God's help through his words and his spirit I can grow in the love of God, by loving others and serving others with the heart and mind of Jesus. With the power of God through his Holy Spirit I can discipline myself to be diligent in Bible study in order to serve my fellowship and God's sheep with the words of life through group Bible study. Through a vine and branch relationship with Jesus through persistent prayers and by depending on the word of God, God can raise me and use me as a leader and a shepherd for Oakton campus students until Oakton and even this nation becomes a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
ONE WORD: Have the spirit of power of love and self-discipline |
