On Sunday, July 21st, Oscar G. and Gia Huy N. from Oakton ministry were baptized. They gave graceful and honest testimonies of their faith in Jesus.

Oscar preferred to be baptized by immersion, so his baptism took place at 9:30 am in front of the Leningrad house in a small pool. Family members attended together along with Oakton ministry members and church members. His father opened the ceremony with a prayer. He said he had been praying and waiting for a long time for his son to be baptized. Oscar shared his beautiful testimony before the baptism. He was wandering for many years without knowing the meaning of life, indulging in many kinds of things in the world. P. Mark led the ceremony and it was a very meaningful and joyful ceremony that one lost one came back to God! Pray for Oscar, he is going to be the president at the OCC Bible club.

Gia was baptized at the end of the 11 am worship service where he also shared his baptism testimony. He opened up before the church about his life before coming to Christ. He and his family immigrated from Vietnam at the beginning of 2022. Growing up he never knew God and tried different religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Out of curiosity and a deep longing to find the truth he came across videos explaining Jesus, his death, and resurrection, he further explored but was still lukewarm about his faith. Later through the Oakton ministry and studying the books of Romans, Genesis, and Corinthians his faith and understanding in God grew deeper. He realized that the pain and suffering he had experienced in his life were the result of spiritual sickness. Now he has no worries about school or life because he knows that God is in control.

Amen! Thank God for the moving faith of these two brothers. May God continue to bless their journey in faith and to be blessed and be a blessing to others.
