GOD MADE ME FOR HIS GLORY

From June 23-24, Chicago HBF held its summer retreat entitled “God Made Me For His Glory,” based on Genesis 1-2, in Indiana and Michigan. Eighteen members attended. On the first day, they went hiking at the Indiana Dunes National Park and played at the beach. After a feast at a sushi and steak buffet, they went to a hotel in Elkhart, Indiana. Willy M. gave an evening devotion on Genesis 1:1-24, and Ire S. gave a morning devotion on Genesis 1:25-2:3. There was also praise led by Hannah A. and Sammy S. and prayer activities led by Yvonne L.

Then, they drove through the picturesque countryside to Silver Beach in Michigan. There they studied the Bible, listened to the message on Genesis 2:4-25 by Sam R, and wrote and shared their testimonies at the beach. The word of God opened their hearts to live for his glory this summer as hosts of the ISBC HBF program. M. Steven and Yvonne L. coordinated the retreat and paid for the hotel rooms. Thank God for his blessing upon us through this inspiring retreat!

 Chicago HBF will have a Two-day summer retreat at the Indiana Dunes, between Gary and Michigan City.

Thank God who has been blessing our preparation for the summer retreat. And thank you to those who have paid the $30 registration fee which pays for dinner at the restaurant and contributes to the cost of gas. M. Steven and Yvonne paid for the hotel rooms. This event is limited to Chicago HBF.

Reminders: 

1. We will meet at 1 p.m. on Friday at the church parking lot to pray. We will return at 5 pm on Saturday.

2. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, sunscreen, and a sun hat or visor. We will be outdoors in the sun most of the day.

3. Bring a swimsuit (no bikinis), a beach towel, and any other items you need for swimming.

4. Itinerary: Saturday — Depart from the church to the Indiana Dunes National Park to Merrillville for dinner, to Elkhart to stay at the Holiday Inn (breakfast at the hotel); Saturday — St. Joseph MI, Silver Beach (BBQ for lunch) and depart to the church at 2:30 pm

Prayer topics:

1. Pray for Willy, Ire, and Sam Rayas who will give the messages.

2. Pray for the group Bible study, testimony writing, sharing, and prayer activities (led by HBF leaders).

3. Pray for Sammy and Hannah who will be leading praise.

4. Pray for safe travels and a joyful, blessed time in fellowship and God’s word.

5. Pray we may strengthen our relationship with our Creator God and live for his glory

6. Pray for M. Steven and Yvonne to have God’s strength, grace, and word of God to prepare and oversee this retreat
